Description
We are seeking a Data Engineer based in Providence, Rhode Island. The role involves working closely with subject matter experts to extract and process information, develop data models, and build dashboards. The position also requires strong skills in Python scripting, SQL and Oracle, and data modeling. The role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Extracting information (ETL) using Python and other relevant technologies
Understanding and utilizing Synapse for data processing
Building and maintaining star schema data models
Creating data lakes for storing and accessing data
Gathering requirements from customers to understand system functionalities
Working with SQL, Oracle, and T-SQL to manage and manipulate data
Developing code with Python for notebooks
Working within a Microsoft environment
Building dashboards for data visualization and analysis
Using skills in Database, AB Testing, Analytics, AWS Technologies, Oracle SQL, Python Scripting, Data Modeling, Synapse, and Star Schemas to perform tasks effectively.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of data engineering.
Proficient in database management and data modeling.
Experience with AWS Technologies is required.
Knowledge of Oracle SQL is essential.
Proficiency in Python scripting is a must.
Familiarity with AB Testing and Analytics is necessary.
Experience with Synapse is preferred.
Understanding of Star Schemas is crucial.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
